Interactive Whiteboards
In this unit we learn about Interactive Whiteboards, these whiteboards allows the students and teachers to connect with the computer though a whiteboard without being directly in front of the computer. The images or the layout of the computer is viewed on the whiteboard by a projector. The whiteboard allows you to do the same functions as on the computer by just a click of a pen instead of a mouse. The board comes with a program called ActivInpsire. The program comes in two additions, Active Primary and Active Studio. The programs are similar to each other, expect for the icons on the toolbox, which are are bigger in Active Primary.
I have created a flip chart for a second grade classroom. The flipchart covers the commonly used punctuation marks used in their writing such as exclamation marks, periods, and question marks. The activities featured in the flip chart uses a combination of ActivInspire interactive compnents such as containers, color matching, and layering.
I have posted ActivInspire flip chart in two different formats. This one is an ActivInspire file. It will have the extension .flipchart. To view this file, you must have ActivInspire software loaded on your computer. If you do not have ActivInspire, here are directions on download the free Activinspire Personal Edition or a 60-day trial of ActivInspire Professional from Promethean's website. If you do not have time to download ActivInspire, here is my flipchart in portable document format (.pdf). Almost anyone should be able to open a .pdf without installing software. However, what you will see is a static or "print" version of the file. The flip chart will lose its interactivity, but you should get an idea of the content.
